Ever wonder what to do with that space between the house, the garage, and the pool? Turn it into the best pool house/breezeway, of course! This client loves to entertain and uses her pool all summer, and this space had become a forgotten drop off for anything and everything, with no real function or purpose. When we started work on her bathroom (check it out here) and she brought up her issues with the breezeway space, we immediately got to work!

First and foremost, the space needed to be cleaned up, so we replaced the existing windows and doors, tiled the floors, and paneled the ceiling in a beachy shiplap. The entire space felt brighter, more open, and cleaner, without us ever changing the existing footprint. We also added a stunning fan to keep the air flowing through the space throughout the summer.

Next was the function. Not only did the client need REAL storage, but it needed to be beautiful to accommodate her parties and make the space inviting. It was so important to make the space useful both for storage as well as party prep and display. This is the space where she lays out food and drinks for guests, with a small martini shelf off to one side for guests who need a break from the sun.

Speaking of drinks, we also installed four panel-ready refrigerator drawers that match the cabinetry seamlessly. I highly recommend this to everyone building out an entertaining space. Refrigerator drawers offer so much flexibility for a party space, from food to juice boxes to wine, without taking up the huge space the a traditional refrigerator requires. And, bonus, they don't require any bending down like an under-the-counter fridge does! Everything is easily accessible and perfectly cool - a win in my book every time.

The details are really what make this space special. The toe kick under the cabinets is a metal toe kick, protecting the cabinetry from wet feet and dirty shoes. The countertop is a quartz top - able to handle some major abuse before ever showing signs of wear and tear. And the gold hardware gives the entire space that final elevated touch that really just says this place is something special. Head over to the photo gallery to take a closer look at all the details!
